COD4 Patch Available Via Xbox Live

It had been a few weeks since we fired up Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and we were pleasantly surprised by what we found last night.

The Call of Duty 4 multiplayer patch is now been made available on Xbox Live, and will automatically update the next time you log into the game while connected to Live.

The Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare update includes a variety of fixes and updates. Among them:
  • Host migration fix
    (Hotswaps host duties in the event that the original host leaves a game abruptly)
  • Quick Mute function
    (allows you to hit Back and quickly mute any player)
  • Kill cams for grenades and airstrikes
    (VERY Slick)
  • Updates for the ACOG scopes and sniper rifles so that they function properly.
We ran through the game for a few hours after updating, and the game does seem to run much smoother. The grenade and airstrike kill cams are great.

The patch for the PlayStation 3 has been submitted to Sony for review and approval, and is expected to hit the PlayStation Network early next week.
