Dead Space 2 Multiplayer Revealed

EA and Visceral Games reveal the new multiplayer mode for Dead Space 2! Check out the new details and trailer that hit this weekend!

EA and Visceral Games released details for the new multiplayer mode that will be included in Dead Space 2, including an all new trailer! Gamers will have the option to play as the human members of the Sprawl security team or as the necromorphs in four-on-four objective based missions. Each map will include different objectives. The missions and objectives will also tie into the single player campaign.

Gamers will be able to choose between four types of necromorphsFour:

The Pack: Able to jumpin on their enemies and temporarily immobilizing them.
Lurkers: The baby necromorphs from Dead Space, including the ability to climb on walls and long range abilities.
Spitters: The lone female of the necromorphs with both long and short range spitting attacks.
Pukers: Able to puke on enemies.

The traditional Dead Space mechanics will transfer over to multiplayer, such as stasis and primary and alternate fire.

Two of the five multiplayer maps were also shown on GameTrailers over the weekend. "Titan Mine" gives the humans the task of trying to find three components of a shock mine, then using it to blow open a door for their breakout after they annihilate the necromorphs.

"Escape" finds our humans trying to breach a series of doors so that they can reach four escape pods, power them on, and get out of there.

Dead Space 2 is set to hit retailers January 25th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
